Yikes. Sorry online is only good for 1 return per account. If you did your daughters return in your account after yours then it overwrote your return and yours is gone.
When you use Online TurboTax, you get one return per fee. Each return needs its own account and user ID. If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, you overwrite the first one and lose it forever.
I am not convinced of that, that one loses all info forever.
Because you can print your return in PDF from the 'print center' (top right of your screen).
Save your 1040 that way on your C-drive.
And then enter other info while you keep your PDF.
You could just mail it? Your info is not lost forever once you save it on your C-drive in PDF.
And if you use desk top you can use any tax return file you want. (there might be a maximum but more than 2)
I sometimes use 2, 3, 4, 5 versions for my own 1040 to see how the various input factors pan out.
Make sure you give the file a distinguishable name by adding something to the standard name for your file that TurboTax otherwise would pick. Like add your name and your daughter's for each of your returns.
@mahimahimom This post is about the Online version. It is different than your Desktop program. Yes the Desktop program has more features and can do unlimited returns.
