I used the free version, but because I paid, I can't start over. I'm not sure my return was right.

I don't trust turbo tax with my information

No one else can see your tax return.   If you are uncertain about whether you prepared it correctly, please post some clearly worded, complete and specific questions about the things you are worried about.

Did you already efile (submitted the return), or are you at the end of the preparation stage but haven't yet efiled?

If you used the Free Edition, what were you charged and paid for?  The Free Edition should be free unless you added an optional feature.   Did something in your return make you upgrade to a paid edition like Deluxe?   Or did you add the PLUS feature ($29) to Free Edition?

Print out your return and review it.  Go over all the figures line by line to see if everything looks correct.  If you spot something that looks "off", that will give you a clue as to where to look in the return interview.

NOTE:  Also, if you have already efiled, and if it's been accepted, do not make any changes in the return if you go back to the interview to review any answers.   If you later need to amend the return, it has to start off as originally filed.

On the other hand, if you already filed, and if it is rejected, then you can make any changes that you need to and resubmit.  Of course, if you haven't actually filed yet, you can make any changes you need to in the interview.
