I thought I was doing the FREE taxes, but in the end it says I own $169. I am self-employed. Is that why? Is there a free way to do self-employed?

If you are filing anything but the 1040EZ or whatever it is called nowadays, you will be charged extra, such as Dividends, cap. gains, on and on. Same thing for the state, if your state taxes you income.
