I think I double paid my state taxes first by having them deducted from my federal return then paying them via my debit card. Can I verify I didn't doubt pay somehow

You cannot use a federal refund to pay a state tax amount due or vice versa. If you choose to pay your state via a direct debiting of your account then you are all set. The only fees that may come out of your federal refund would be if you choose to pay for the program out of your federal refund.
In addition, if you paid for your Turbo Tax fees from your debit card, you will no longer get the option to have your Turbo tax fees taken out of your federal refund, as they would already be paid in full.
