I still have Windows 7 which was used for 2015 . if you mail me DISC for 2016 preparation will it utilize the basic data from 2015 data

If the 2015 tax return prepared using the program installed on your computer is still on the computer, you will be able to transfer the information into your 2016 program.

You need the file ending in .tax2015 to transfer into 2016.  Do you have that file?  It should be in your Documents then in a Turbo Tax folder.  You start a new 2016 tax return and the first thing it does is look for any 2015 returns on your computer and asks if you want to transfer it.  If it doesn't find the .tax2015 file you can browse files to tell it where it is.
