What is a "qualifying person" for Head of Household?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

You may need to answer a question in TurboTax regarding whether you maintain your home. If you check the Review option on your left menu bar, you will likely see that question if you have not already answered it. You have to indicate that you maintain your home in order to qualify as a head of household.
