I setup a direct debit, but i'm seeing "How can I pay my taxes" and "How can I pay my taxes" and no indication that a direct payment debit is cancelled. How can I verify?

The return is accepted, but still no indication or anything indicating a hold in checking. How do i verify it went through? Seems like a major Flaw for Turbo Tax to give no confirmation that a payment was scheduled.

Look at your Filing Instructions or the Federal Information Worksheet within your tax return PDF to see your specific tax return payment date.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. On the Tax Home page, scroll down to "Your tax returns & documents."
  3. Select the relevant tax year (e.g., 2025) and click Download/print return (PDF).
  4. Once you open the PDF, and Look for a section titled "Balance Due/Refund" or "Electronic Filing Instructions." It will list the amount you owe, the bank account used, and the "Date of Withdrawal" or "Requested Payment Date."  OR...
  5. Scroll down to the "Federal Information Worksheet", Part V (it will list your direct deposit or electronic funds withdrawal information);.

Note: If you did not choose a specific date, TurboTax defaults to the tax deadline (April 15).

The completed 1040 form showed "X" in the routing and account numbers in the form for the "Refund" section, so I was unsure if it was submitted for payment or refund.

I ended up calling support. Support was able to confirm that Direct Pay information was submitted when the tax return was filed. And got some confirmation that I should wait up to 72 hours to make sure it goes through since there is a processing time.

I think the interface for TurboTax could make this more clear that Direct Pay information was submitted and provide an expected timeline of when funds would accessed.

Payment information came early in the filing process, so I was unsure if going back to fix any information would interrupt that process. Bugs are common in software, especially now in the age of AI. The payment and refund part of the process is the biggest part of the process and seemed more like an after thought in TurboTax.

Seeing 2 different links for payment options shown twice on the page after payment was supposedly made when the taxes were filed rather than some kind confirmation that payment information was submitted made matters worse.
