I set up an electronic payment for my federal taxes owed. Will I get a confirmation of payment? Want to be sure it is not late getting to the IRS

Your confirmation is your electronic filing acceptance. As long as it is accepted prior to April 18, 2017, the IRS will credit your tax account with that date.

@debferrero29 If you would like to check the status of your e-file, you can use the E-file Status Checker here. Also, keep in mind that you should receive an email from the IRS once your return has been accepted.
