I requested automatic monthly payments from my bank account to pay for the taxes i owe, do i still have to mail things to the IRS?

No, once you set up the automatic payments the amount will be deducted from your account on the day requested.  You will not have to mail anything to the IRS unless it is requested.

the forms that came in pdf seem to suggest a need to mail in these payment vouchers and installment request. i assume these are superfluous?
