I received unemployment benefits in CA during 2022 and had the federal taxes withheld, but TurboTax keeps saying to fix my return because I don't have locality or an amt

I tried to put the locality as CA but I do not have an amount for local income tax withheld. Turbotax will not let me skip the locality because I have federal taxes withheld in box 4

You should leave the locality field blank and just put in the amount received and select California for the State.  When you check the federal tax box the next screen asks you to enter the federal tax withheld.  DO NOT SELECT THE STATE  in that screen as CA does not tax unemployment benefits so there was no CA income tax withheld.

Hi, thank you. It was actually a glitch with Turbotax, I had to sign out and back in.
