The unemployment compensation is taxable income on a federal tax return. It will added to your earned income to arrive at your total income on Form 1040 Line 9.

Unemployment is taxable. You will get a 1099G for it. Enter the 1099G and your W2 into Turbo Tax. Did you have any withholding taken out of the unemployment?
