I received the W2 from the company that shouldn't exist anymore.

I received the Email from Turbotax that my W2 is ready from this company. But I didn't work for this company last year and this company was acquired in 2016 by the other company so it shouldn't exist. Of course I haven't received anything from them. 

Is it possible that Turbotax has automatically sent this message because I filed W2 from this company in the past 2 years?

Yes this was automatic. Our apologies, but TurboTax was informing you of this company's W2 availability. (if applicable)

If you did NOT work for this company in 2017, please disregard the notice.

Make sure you remove this employer form your return this year.
