Hello,
I received a promotional email multiple times to switch from the Desktop version to TurboTax Online and when I finished my entire return the promotional values are not honored. The email contains a link that when clicked brings me to a TurboTax webpage (there is no service code anywhere in the email). The webpage states that using TurboTax Do It Yourself Premium Online will cost $59 for1 Federal return with e-file. In addition, it says State Return is $24 with e-file. The text regarding the state return price can be clicked to open a pop-up window which states if filing in multiple states, then each state is the same discounted price (should be $24/state). Also, the fine print in the email and webpage says that the discount expires on April 15, 2026. *See photos*
I have called TurboTax support multiple times and they are not helpful. I even supposedly talked to a supervisor that said they cannot do anything about it because I do not have a service code. The supervisor and other representatives told me to "clear and start over", to see if when starting over and using the email link plus the link on the webpage that opens to start my return will resolve the issue. I did this a few hours ago and completed the return for a second time and I am not receiving the promotional pricing.
I have seen on reddit that people have had similar situations with different TurboTax promotions requiring them to use a browser that does not have ad-blockers and/or anti-tracking. I am wondering if anyone knows if this works because this will mean that I will have to "clear and start over" a second time and fill out my return for a third time.

Hi @Jeremies, I have sent you a private message to better assist you. I look forward to helping you there.
I can't see the bottom of your screenshot, but I am assuming it was a limited time deal. Your email was from February 16.
Hi @CatinaT1,
It actually is not expired!
I have attached a photo (from both the email and webpage that opens when clicking the email link) with the expiration date highlighted and underlined. I believe in my original post I had mentioned the expiration date being 15Apr2026. Also, as mentioned in my original post there is no service code.

I have the same issue. I spend almost 3 hours with turbotax support.
Nothing they can do.
They even tried to "explain" to me that offer is not valid, but I received about 15 emails with this offer,
and the text says "valid until April 15"
If I knew this will be a huge problem I'd install desktop version, like I used to do for many years...
I don't understand why Intuit sent these emails if they evet their support has no idea what it is and can't help?
So, if there is any solution, I'll appreciate to hear about it.
Thanks
Hi @shikotax, please check your private messages.
the offer
the fine print
this is what I see online on turbotaxThis is the email with "exclusive offer".
SuziM, thank you very much for your help!
I have the same problem, received the promotion for $80 in Fed and $40 in State in my email, but when I clicked it through, the discount did not show. I called the support for 3 hours (talked to 4 different agents) and they are not helpful either. The last person told me to pay ahead and file for refund request. Is that the solution? Thank you!
I have the same issue, received the promotion for $80 in Fed and $40 in State in my email, but when I clicked it through, the discount did not apply during checkout. I have been a customer for turbotax desktop for years when they did not have online premium product. I thought discount was legit. After doing all that the discount doesn't apply and now the agents say, the email is wrong or something, " we don't know why it said that". I didn't expect this deceptive advertising for loyal customers.
Hi @ambertomato and @rammohan4u ,
SuziM ended up helping me. Not sure if she will be able to see your posts as the deadline is a couple of days away.
Thanks, she did contact me thankfully.I have provided the info as needed, shouldn't be this complicated though.
Hi, i received the same email with the expiration of 4/15 and when i clicked the link it applied the discount but when i checked price preview before filing the discount was no longer there. i called customer service but they couldnt help. Is SuziM or someone else available ? thank you
Hi Suzy,
I'm having a similar issue where I complete my taxes to final step and had the $59 offer. For some reason, it switched to a refer a friend and now wants to charge me $119 for the same thing. I've used Turbotax and the desktop and online version for years, but feel quite scammed. Any thing you can do to help? [email address removed]
Thanks!
Hi @SuziM are you able to assist me with the same issue? I received the email with promotional discount as well and it does not work. I’ve tried erasing cookies and relogging in. Unfortunately I need to file now before the deadline so do I have any recourse to get a credit after payment?
