Using the online editions, when you have taxes owed, in the File section of the program in Step 2 you are given specific options on how to pay the taxes. Most states do not allow direct debit of the taxes owed when using tax preparation software. Nor can taxes owed be paid with a tax refund, Federal or State. In those cases, you are give the option to pay the taxes owed with a payment voucher mailed to the state with your payment. And you are given a link to the state website where you can use either direct debit or payment by credit card. Which payment option did you choose?
Look at the Filing Instructions page for your state tax return as it will show how you selected to pay the taxes.
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.

My state of Virginia allows payment with credit card. I choose pay with credit card at that time and my printed form show that. However, my federal taxes were paid correctly.

If you paid by credit card then your credit card statement should reflect that payment.
