I ran into a bug in TurboTax 2025 desktop deluxe edition regarding 1099-R amounts incorrectly updated when saved

I was completing my return.  It has 3 1099-Rs.  The first 2 are from the same institution, one for my wife and one for myself.  The bug shows up after I completed everything all the way through fed and state, verified, checked not errors or incomplete(s), ready to e-file.  I saved the file, exited and reloaded.  To my surprise the amount I owed changed significantly.  I tracked it down to the 1099-Rs.  When the file was saved.  It changed the entry for the first 1099 -R for my wife Box 1 gross distribution to be the total of my wife 1099-R and my 1099-R for the same institution.  In order to continue filing I must correct this now each time the return is loaded before continuing.

Latest update did not correct this (3/5/2026).  The problem showed up after entering all the e-file questions, saving a PDF for the return and then saving this return file.  Closing Turbotax desktop and then reopening the file.
I finally got it corrected by deleting the 1099-Rs and then adding them back in a different order.

This sounds like a problem with the import of the 1099-R.  In order to fix this you should delete the 1099-R that you imported and tell the system "I'll type it in myself".  Then enter all of the information from the 1099-R manually.  That should make everything calculate correctly.

This was not an import problem.  The entries for the 1099-Rs were all done manually.  As already noted I fixed this by deleting all the 1099-Rs and entering them again in a different order.  That resolved the problem
