If you are still seeing "rejected" on your account that is because that was the result of your attempt to e-file.  The software does not have eyes on you.  TurboTax does not know that you put your tax return in an envelope and took it to a mailbox.  Your account will only show the result of what you did using the software.  If you know you mailed it, that is enough.  Whenever you mail something to the IRS, use a mailing service that will track it like certified mail so you will know it was received.

TurboTax will have no way to know that the tax return was printed and mailed.  You can ignore the rejection message for the prior year tax return that was mailed.
