I paid to E-file my state reture but it is saying it’s ready to be mailed why is that

Are you using the Desktop program?  There is a new problem Efiling state.

In the online version the fees are to prepare the return whether you efile or print and mail.  You can try to switch to efile.   Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.

Important! Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.
