I paid off my installment agreement 10 days ago. When I log in to check my balance it is still showing the full amount unpaid. IRS Pay did take the money. Where is it?

I used IRS Direct Pay on December 6th and paid my full outstanding balance on my Installment Agreement. It's now December 16th and when I login to check my balance it's still showing the full balance unpaid. I checked my bank account and the money was deducted by the IRS. The question now is when will it be applied?

My auto payment was on the 14th. Now I've overpaid because since the payment didn't post the IRS took the normal payment. Do I get that money back?

TurboTax does not and cannot update your account showing the amount is paid.  There is no link between the IRS and TurboTax for payments made.  As long as you have paid the taxes owed you don't have to worry about what TurboTax tax monitor is showing, it will not be affect your 2016 tax return.

If you have overpaid, the IRS should catch the overpayment and send you a check for the amount overpaid.
