I paid my state taxes due out on my credit card. However it appears the amount owed tonatate was deducted from my federal. When will I get the difference returned to me?

The amount owed to the state was deducted from my federal return that I have already paid in full. When will it be refunded to me?

It is not possible to pay any state tax due out of your Federal refund.  You are misinterpreting something.  The only thing that can be paid out of a Federal refund are the TurboTax fees if one chooses to do so (plus the $40-45 service fee for that payment option.)

If you are looking at the Tax Home, that just shows you the net amount you end up in your pocket after getting your Federal refund and paying your state tax owed by some other method.  It doesn't mean it was paid out of the Federal refund.   Federal and state tax agencies are separate entities and do not work together in that regard.

To see your Federal refund amount, look at your actual return.  Look at the Form 1040, Line 21a.

Then if you chose to pay any fees out of the refund, subtract any TurboTax fees (plus the $40-45 service charge).

State taxes owed can never be paid from the federal tax refund.  What you are seeing is the NET between what is a refund and what is owed.  It is an FYI only and does Not represent a payment.

Your federal tax refund remains the same.
