I paid my babysitter over $1400 last year, do I need to give her a 1099? Her work wasn't on a consistent basis and babysitting was all she did for us.

When I went through Turbo Tax I entered all of this info and it never prompted me to send a 1099.

No, because you are not a 'business' you don't have to give a 1099 to your babysitter.

If you had a business (like landscaping, for instance) and you paid someone to haul away the leaves, you would give them a 1099 and call it a 'business expense'.

You will have to enter her name, address and social security number.
