I paid money a head to IRS for 2018. Where do I put the figures in the tax program? I sent in a check and 1040-ES in July of 2018.

You didn't say if you are using Online TurboTax or the desktop software (CD/download).

This is the Online method, although it is similar in the desktop version.

If you are reporting estimated taxes you paid in 2018 (and possibly early 2019) toward 2018 taxes, here's a way to navigate to the estimated taxes section in the Online product:

  • Log in and open your return ("Take me to my return".)
  • When the return is open, click at the top right corner on the Search tab.
  • Enter quarterly without quotes and click on the magnifying glass.
  • Choose Jump to quarterly.
  • You will come to a screen "Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid".
  • The first topic is "Estimated Tax Payments."
  • Choose the category(s) for the type of tax payments.

NOTE:  If you also entered state estimated tax payments, then step through the State interview to be sure they transfer over to the state side.  Before filing, review your Federal and State return to make sure the estimated tax payments are showing up.
