You can deduct any state taxes paid (for any year) or state estimates actually paid in during the year on your federal return if you Itemize deductions. But just the tax, not anyReport Estimated Taxes for 2016interest or penalties.

Hello, @Opus 17
Where in TT online do I enter the additional state taxes paid?
Thank you,
Teresa M.
On the Deductions and Credits page there is a section for "Estimates and other taxes paid". You may have to click something like "show me more options" or "let me choose what to work on" if it doesn't come up right away. There is one page for entering 2020 estimated taxes (state and federal) and another page where you can enter state taxes paid for a prior year.
