I paid $315 each quarter during the past 12 months. How do I get credit for this against my tax liability for 2016?
The amounts you paid are estimated taxes. To get the credit for these amounts, you need to enter them on your tax return.
You can enter the estimated taxes you paid by following these steps:
- In TurboTax, open your tax return and click on Personal, then Deductions & Credits
- On the next page, click on I'll choose what I work on
- Locate the section named Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
- Click on Start next to Estimates (see attached screenshot).
