I own shares in a company that went bankrupt in 2020 and canceled its equity. I haven't sold the shares, but they are worthless. May I report the loss on my 2020 return?

Yes, you can report the loss on your 2020 tax return.  You will report it the same way you would a sale, but with proceeds of zero.  For the date of sale, use the date you became aware that the stock was worthless.
