No.  Your federal refund cannot be used to pay your current state tax due.  You have to pay the state using the state's preferred method of payment.

No.  Your federal refund cannot be used to pay your current state tax due.  You have to pay the state using the state's preferred method of payment.

Thank you, that clarifies alot, but now i don't understand why my refund amount different on my printed 1040 form than what turbo tax says

Sometimes people get confused by the "summary" in TurboTax that shows the difference between federal and state amounts--or the combined amounts if there is a refund for both.
 Did you choose to have TT fees deducted from your Federal refund?  (Remember that if you did that, you also agreed to an extra refund processing fee of $39.99)
