Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.

When federal income tax returns are accepted, state income tax return may be accepted as well. If not, it will be rejected due to a specific reason. You can check the status of your state income tax by going to your local State Department of Revenue website.
The IRS started processing electronically filed income tax returns on a first in, first out basis in February 12, 2021 The refunds are processed within 21 business days after IRS acceptance of the electronically filed return.
You can check the IRS website under Refunds tab to check the status of your return. You needed primary SSN, filing status, and the gross amount of the refund.
