I never received a W2 from an employer, but I do have the last check stub, because it was my only check I received from them. Can I use this?

If you are missing a W-2 from your employer and cannot get it, you have a couple options:

  1. Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 (you will want to have your last paystub when you call)
  2. File your return using with estimated numbers using Form 4852: Substitute for Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement.

Note: If you choose to file Form 4582 you will not be able to e-file your return and you may need to amend your return later on.

To file a substitute W-2 using Form 4852, see below:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/5451995
