You can still use online TurboTax and e-file a 2023 return until October 15, 2024.  After that, e-filing and online preparation will close down and you will only be able to use the CD/download software on a full PC or Mac, and your return will have to be filed by mail.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return.  You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return.  The state e-file fee is $20 and increases to $25 in March.
