I need to file my 2021 tax return I did it through turbo tax paid for it but did not transmit How do I transmit it?

It’s too late to efile a 2021 return.  Print and mail it.

E-filing is permanently closed for 2021 returns.  Print it, sign and date it in ink and mail it in.  Expect six to nine months for the IRS to process it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

@dyanna62 - you already did what?  if you paper filed, you can not efile.  for 2021, efiling is currently closed.

@dyanna62 If you filed by mail, you are done.   You cannot file again.  And e-filing is closed.   It is taking the IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns, so you simply have to wait for a human to enter your information into the system and then you can watch the IRS site for information about your refund.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
