I need to file my 2016 taxes - I believe I have to file my state taxes electronically but can mail my federal tax return. Is there a way to do this?

You cannot e-file anything for 2016. E-filing for 2016 is closed permanently now. Federal and state returns both have to be printed, signed, and mailed. Do not mail them together--they go to completely separate places.
