I need help on how to file my taxes for 2011 because I am being penalized by NC for not filing state taxes that year.

Turbo Tax doesn't support the 2011 tax programs any longer ... you will need to get the forms from the state web site and complete them manually  OR   find a local paid preparer that can do them for you.
