Try turning off your antivirus program.
What file did you download? Was it a .tax or .pdf or .txt file? If it downloads as a .txt file, try changing the .txt to .pdf or use a different browser to download it. It doesn't like Microsoft Edge so use something else like Chrome or Firefox.
If you downloaded the .tax2019 file that is the wrong file (unless you have the Desktop program installed and need to amend). You need to download the PDF file.

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I am not in the wrong account. In fact, I tried the 2018 return and it downloaded.
But the 2019 ]return apparently begins to download and then nothing happens (it stops.).
I have had a technician look at my computer, and with his help, I have updated my Adobe acrobat suite.
Technically, the computer is fine.
I also tried changing browsers. I tried using Chrome and Mozilla FireFox, receiving the same results.
I would appreciate if you can provide any more tips.
Sincerely,
Mohammad
@mauwal Please clarify for us--did you prepare your tax returns using online software or did you use desktop (CD/download) software? If you used desktop software, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive. They are not stored online. If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $50, an actual copy of the return.

Contact your state for copies of previous state returns.

If you are having this problem with online software, you need customer support:

Thank you, again, for being so responsive to my request for help.
I prepared the tax return using the web-version of Turbotax. I have done this for the past several years.
I also filed online.
I see all my tax returns show up in the Turbotax site. It shows they are available for download as pdf and another format. I tried downloading a previous (2018) year, and it did download.
But strangely the 2019 returns just times out and doesn't download. I will try calling the Turbotax office tomorrow.
Thank you for all your help.
Sincerely,
MAA
For the PDF, you have to "open" the PDF file so that you can read it on your computer. Then from there you can save it. If opened with the free Acrobat Reader it's just a simple matter of select FILE then SAVE AS and saving it to your computer.
For the .tax20nn file you may have to right-click the file and select the "save link" option from there.
Thank you!
I appreciate your answer to my call.
Warm regards,
MAA
