I need an e-filing PIN, not the Identity Protection PIN. Two different things. I have my new Identity Protection PIN from the IRS. It is 6 digits.
How do I get the e-filing PIN? The e-filing PIN can only be 5 digits.

You can use any 5 digit PIN you select. What you must enter correctly is the AGI from your 2024 federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 11
A five digit PIN is self-select. You make it up yourself.
Thank you. It didn't accept whatever I used last year, so I'm dumbfounded. I'll try it again after I calm down.
It seems that one must use last year's 5 digit e-filing PIN. I had made a typo, leading to the rejection of my federal return. The AGI was correct, TurboTax automatically enters it for this current year's return. The Identity Protection PIN does change every year and one must obtain it from the IRS website.
