i made one prepayment to both federal and state and i dont see where to enter that. the prompts only take me to the form to pay quarterly taxes. Where can i add this?

If the payments were for taxes owed on a prior year tax return, then you do not enter the federal income taxes paid on the federal tax return.  You can enter the state income taxes paid on a federal return.

To enter state income taxes paid -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Income Taxes Paid, click on the start or update button

On the next screen scroll down to Other Income Taxes Paid in 2025

A prepayment is considered an estimated payment. Follow these steps:

1. Open to Federal Deductions & Credits. 
2. Look for "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid." You may need to click "See all tax breaks" or "I'll choose what I work on."
3. Select "Estimated Tax Payments."
4. Enter your Federal and State payments separately.
