I’m was trying to file my taxes last year for 2020 and it got hunged up when I was trying to prove who I was.

You can no longer e-file 2020 taxes with TurboTax.  You will need to print the return, sign it, and mail it.  When you print the return to file the address to mail it to and the documents that you need to include with the return will on the instruction page that comes out at the beginning of the printed return.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
