Please explain more clearly what you are trying to do.   What does your parents' filing status have to do with your own tax return?

Did you setup a new account for your return?  You can't use your parents account or you will overwrite their return.   

Online is only good for 1 return per account.  But you can use the same email address for 5 accounts.   How to start another return in the Online version
