When you e-file your return you do not physically sign it. You "sign" electronically be entering your 2018 AGI or PIN. Go through all the steps in the FILE section and enter your 2018 AGI, and then you will be able to click a big orange button that says "Transmit my returns now." When you click that button, you have filed, Then watch your emails.

Your 2018 tax return shows your 2018 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2018
If entering the amount from your 2018 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
Technically you esign the return by picking out a 5 digit number to act as your signature PIN ... the prior year PIN or AGI verifies it is really you filing your own return ... follow the steps in the FILE tab until you get to the big orange transmit now button ...
