I'm trying to file my 2018 taxes and purchased the deluxe version as required. I'm attempting to process everything on my phone but need some direction

Well stop it.  You cannot use 2018 software on a phone or any other mobile device.  The 2018 software you have to use can only be used on a full PC or Mac.  Do you have access to a computer?  If not, better see if someone will allow you to use the software on theirs.

Or use the paper forms and prepare them by hand.

You need a full Windows or Mac computer to install it on.
