I'm trying to file just my state because federal already was filed, but when i go to file it's still trying to file federal too

I had to file federal without state because forms were not ready.  now when i try and file my state it don't go through because it's still trying to file federal

You can e-file your State only, but your Federal return must be  accepted before you can e-file your state.  See the following on how to e-file State return after Federal return has been accepted.  If your Federal return has not been accepted, or you mailed it in, then you would need to print and mail your State return.
