If you had Medi-Cal, you do not need to enter anything on your return. As you are walking through the steps in the CA return, you will be asked if you both had health insurance coverage in 2024. Answer yes, if you had Medi-Cal for the entire year. This is all of the information you will need to enter.
If you had it for part of the year, then you will select "I'll pick who had it and which months" when you do this you will put a check mark in the boxes for the months you had it and leave the months you did not have it blank.
The only time you would need to enter information about your actual insurance is if you had insurance through the marketplace. If you did, then you would need to enter your 1095-A in the federal section under medical.
