I'm the non custodial parent receiving a form 8332 from my ex spouse. based on that how do I make turbo tax give me the child tax credit w/out increasing months to 7?

If you have gone through the entire dependent interview,and made correct entries, you would not need to change the months to 7. You have an error somewhere in your entries. Go back and review. Make sure when asked if the child provided more then half their own support that you said no.
