I'm self employed, do i post my earning under the business income section or the personal 1099 section?

If you have a form 1099 related to your self employment, then you enter this income under the 1099 section and Turbo tax will automatically transfer it over to the schedule c. To quickly get to the 1099 screen, you can use the topic search tool in Turbo Tax Online. Just follow the directions below, in order to do so.

• Sign in to your return.
• Click take me to my return.
• Click my account, at the top of the page.
• Select tools in the drop down.
• Click on topic search, type in form 1099-misc and click go.

Here is where you enter in your 1099 income.

BTW the 1099-MISC will also show up under Personal Income, but that is not a problem, TurboTax knows there is only one.
