I'm only filing federal taxes with turbo tax but I'm getting charged for state tax return too. How do I avoid this?

It looks like Turbo Tax is charging me for both federal & state tax returns, but I only did federal tax return with them. How do I remove the state tax return charge?

To not pay for state now you can delete it. You can add it back again later if you want.

The instructions in the link you provided to delete my state tax return don't work. I do not find any trash button that allows me to delete my state return, but I'm being charged for Turbo Tax doing it.

What if you click on Continue Filing to get back into your return?

I did that but Turbo Tax automatically began filling in information for my state return. I don’t want Turbo Tax to do that return & be charged for it. In prior years, there was an option to skip the state return & file the federal return. I don’t see that this year. Can you show me a screenshot of the instructions from the link you posted where you can go to “Tax Home”, find status of state return & then delete it, as I’m not seeing that on my screen? Thanks!
