I'm on F1 visa & wkng on OPT.Federal tax return.I have filled 1040-NR,FOR GA State Tax return, Will I consider Resident or NR. As I lived in GA for 2023 complete 365 days

I have Georgia License, I am working from home , my company is located in MISSOURI, I filled jointly with my wife in 2022 when I was in H4 visa but now my status is F1, So now I am filling married filing separately

I am quite confused  -- please could you  provide details  on :

1.  When did you enter the USA and with which visa ?

2.  Did you mean that you were "working" or   "entered the country on" with H1-B ?  And then    switched  to F-1 OPT -- kind of  " not make sense "  ?

3. Are you married and if so to whom ( another NRA/ US person or what )?

I am trying to understand  why you filed with 1040-NR for 2023 ( ?).

Most states have their own  definition of "Resident" and generally has nothing to do with the immigration and/or IRS status.
