I'm legally still married, we haven't lived together for a year
If you are married at the end of the year, you have to file either Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Single. However, in certain cases, and if you have dependents, you may qualify for Head of Household.

Note: One of the requirements is that the spouse didn't live in your home the last six months of the year. The absence cannot be temporary!
