List her as your child. A step child is the same as a biological child, for tax purposes. This is true even if you are currently divorced from the child's parent.

If you file a joint return, with the child's parent, you may answer the interview questions for either spouse. That is, the dependent is the child of your spouse, so you answer "my child".
