I'm filing as married separately because I didnt live with my wife in the same house hold during entire 2025.

I'm getting only $501 from Fed and $132 from the state (Virginia). I want to review my filing because I believe I should get back more money. Please help.

Why do you believe you should get more back?  When you file as Married Filing Separately, you are not able to claim certain credits such as No Tax On OT, No Tax on Tips, Education Credits, and Student Loan Interest Deduction.

Do you have dependents?  If so, who has custody?

If you and your wife agree, you can still file as Married Filing Jointly, even if you do not live in the same household.

Married filing separately is usually the worst way to file.  If one spouse itemizes deductions, the other must also itemize even if it causes a disadvantage.    Or both must use standards deduction.  You lose certain credits like earned income credit.
