I'm doing my 2017 taxes late, now. Why I couldn't do them online like normal? Turbotax had me download software instead of doing them online

The TurboTax 2017 online editions shut down after October 15, 2018.  Only the TurboTax online editions for tax year 2018 are currently available.

FYI - Online always closes Oct 15 each year.  That is the last day the IRS allows you to efile.  After that you have to print and mail your returns.  And Turbo Tax closes to get ready for the next year.  Something to remember for next year.
