I'm a pastor/clergy. How do I know what to pay social security taxes on; wages only, housing allowance only or both wages and housing allowance?
There are 3 options for clergy in regard to paying FICA: a) on wages only; b) on housing allowance only; c) on both wages and housing allowance. How do I determine which is the right option for me?

Everyone pays taxes on both. Housing allowance only only applies if the church improperly withheld social security and Medicare tax from your wages, and I can’t think of any situation where wages only would apply.
