I'm a dependent on my parent's tax return. Why is the system not asking me this question? It's giving me the full standard deduction - single, way above my income

You can still be a dependent even if you earned enough to exceed the standard deduction amount.  If you are a full-time student, it doesn't matter how much you earned.  Parents can claim you as a dependent and get the education credit and the $500 credit for other dependents, and perhaps other benefits such as Head of Household filing status if you are claimed by a single parent, or earned income credit.      You must say in MY INFO on your own return that you can be claimed as a dependent.
